Hello!

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Kat, but you probably already knew that by now.

I’m a visual storyteller with more than a decade and a half of experience in fast-paced, collaborative media environments. I am expert in art direction, editorial illustration, and cross-team collaboration, with a proven ability to navigate tight deadlines and render complex or sensitive topics with creativity and nuance. I have spent the last 11 years as a designer at The Washington Post, and previously worked for USA Today and The Arizona Republic.

I live in Northern Virginia with my family and our sweet, elderly lab-mix. When I’m not designing, I find joy working with my hands, learning new skills and creating things from scratch. I’m currently teaching myself to sew because I love the creative possibilities where form and function meet.
